MS in processing engineering or BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 5-10 years hands-on, experimental experience in a research and development environment working with materials processing methods and equipment. The advanced manufacturing and deposition systems group is currently working a number of exciting and transformational technologies for additive manufacturing, manufacturing of batteries, composites manufacturing, and spray processing.

About the Job

In this position you will be responsible for leading process optimization and experimental design for complex systems. This includes working with Mechanical Engineers to ensure experimental setups include necessary controls from inception, planning experimental campaigns to meet research goals, setting and documenting experimental procedures, performing metrology, and analyzing results. The ideal candidate will have experience working with polymer processing, ceramic slurry processing, coating, or printing systems.


• MS in Process Engineering or BS in related field with 5-10 years Process Engineering Experience • Familiarity with control and operation of common processing equipment (pumps, valves, dispensers, ovens, curing and drying equipment, simple mechanical motion systems). • Familiarity with metrology equipment at multiple length scales (SEM, optical microscoscopy, confocal microscopes, profilometers, film measurement, etc…) • Ability to formulate efficient experimental campaigns and then execute on them • Strong desire to learn new systems • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
