Aircraft Structural Engineer

Duties and General Functions:

Applies engineering principles to research, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, and test air vehicle structural components and mechanical systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, designs, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. The incumbent applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.

Other Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:

A total of at least 6 years of professional engineering experience that consisted of performing the foregoing engineering functions, and

At least 2 years of the foregoing total experience shall be in the field of aerospace structures or associated mechanical systems.

Education Required:

A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in an engineering or physics discipline from a school where the specified curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Must be capable of lifting 50, 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

U S Citizenship required and ability to obtain a US DoD Interim Secret Security clearance within 45 days of hire, granted a Secret clearance, and ability to maintain clearance throughout employment. If the position requires a clearance.
