Computer Systems Analyst II

General Functions:

  • Responsible for administration of various operating systems and computer hardware supporting the ATR Communications Network

  • Provide authoritative and detailed computer system information and connectivity to Range instrumentation engineers and technicians both within NAWCAD and at other government agencies and industry

  • Intimately involved in various aspects of design, installation, validation and accreditation of numerous networking protocols, interfaces, applications and technologies

  • Administer and maintain classified and unclassified computer communication systems and networks at ATR

  • Assist in developing and maintaining a complex test facility in support of the NAWCAD, NAST, other DoD services, and other activities as directed

Other Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:

  • The incumbent of this position is a senior-level systems administrator in Windows server, desktop, and domain services requiring knowledge of Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Windows 10 and Windows 7

  • Position requires a minimum of 4 years’ relevant and demonstrated system administration experience

  • Applicant should be familiar with WSUS, SCCM, SCAP, ACAS, and other means to identify and address vulnerabilities

  • Clear and concise communication with customers, peers, and management is a must

  • Applicant must be a self-starter with research, design, installation, and troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge and experience with backup and restore methods with proven disaster recovery processes and procedures

  • Must be able to quickly analyze, isolate root cause, and correct system troubles

  • Experience with SQL, Solarwinds, and Splunk are also highly desired

  • Linux, Python, Cisco, and scripting knowledge a plus

  • Occasional overtime including nights and weekends required


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. BS/BA degree preferred.

  • Microsoft, Security+ and/or CISSP certifications required.

Work Conditions:

  • Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.

  • Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Top Secret Clearance.
