System Analyst

General Functions and Background Information:

PAE is looking for an experienced application developer to join our software team. The team is focused on an application called STING that is a GOTS multi-sensor situational awareness command and control application.

This position will require effective communication and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. The work will involve a large code base that has been in production for a number of years. Responsibilities will include application development support for existing code to increase flexibility of adding new sensors, managing design artifacts, shoring up requirements, and system testing.


In this role you will support design, testing and development of software that connects the STING system to sensor systems using modular software components collectively know as the EDGE.

  • Update, improve, maintain and document STING/SureTrak software.

  • Create test plans and conduct software component and application tests.

  • Support development of software connecting EDGE components to STING/SureTrak component interfaces.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in software development team using an object-oriented language (C++, Java).

  • Strong appreciation for effective documentation, not too much and not too little.

  • Experience with software testing programs, testing methodology and best practices, and issue tracking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience configuring client-server-sensor networked applications.

  • Experience building installers for Windows application deployment.

  • Experience using source control systems like Git or SVN.

  • Database experience with CouchDB and PostgreSQL.

  • Geospatial experience programming with OpenMap and Leaflet.

Education Required:

  • BS in Computer Science

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Must be capable of lifting 50, 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.

U S Citizenship required and ability to obtain a US DoD Interim Secret Security clearance within 45 days of hire, granted a Secret clearance, and ability to maintain clearance throughout employment. If the position requires a clearance.
