Position opening in Picton, Ontario.

Lead and manage efficiently the plant production operations according to the market's product requirements (demand and product quality), applicable laws and regulations, and Group Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.

  • Helping in defining a yearly and multi-year CAPEX Plan for new projects to improve plant operations.

  • Contributing to ensure the inspection program (knowledge of equipment condition) is being executed using proper techniques.

  • Contributing to ensure that maintenance jobs are prioritized consistent with production requirements and schedules.

  • Managing production contractors to ensure efficiency and to monitor costs.

  • Preparing requisitions for equipment, materials, and services following purchasing procedures, responsibilities, and guidelines.

  • Ensuring production according to marketing needs (volume and quality) prior to release for shipment to customers

  • Monitoring main equipment performance in order to ensure the required production and performance targets. Ensuring accuracy of production figures.

  • Optimizing inventory and usage of raw materials according to operational needs.

  • Ensuring that plant operating plans and parameters are in compliance with environmental requirements.

  • Setting-up budgetary production figures (e.g., volumes, specific consumption, variable and fixed costs, etc.).

  • Setting-up production schedules aligned to repair schedules and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Defining daily tasks and areas of responsibilities according to operational needs.

  • Promoting a positive attitude in the work environment, while enforcing group policies and providing feedback.

  • Defining development and training program for employees to ensure the growth of professional expertise in agreement with operational needs.

  • Defining personnel schedules (shifts, overtime, etc.) according to operational needs.

  • Promoting safe work practices and habits among the employees.

  • Ensuring that all safety programs are developed within the department.

  • Executing the Environmental Plan.

  • Helping in defining the continuous Improvement Plan relevant to production efficiencies and optimization.

  • Implementing the continuous Improvement Plan in order to reduce unit cost.

  • Contributing to the development of innovation initiatives for product and applications.


  • Previous cement process knowledge preferred

  • Administrative, supervisory, leadership and organizational skills required

  • Bachelors degree in technical field (Engineering) preferred or equivalent plant operations experience required

  • Must be familiar with SAP, PQDM and MS Office products
