SUNY College at Plattsburgh Writer/Editor in Plattsburgh, New York
The Institutional Advancement Division at SUNY Plattsburgh seeks applicants for a full-time writer/editor. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Advancement Communications in developing concepts and copy for the Plattsburgh Magazine, Annual Report and a variety of print and online marketing and communication deliverables.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Support communication strategy and delivery of content for the Plattsburgh Magazine, Annual Report, newsletter, website and other Advancement Communications projects. Research and write alumni profiles. Perform daily editorial functions that include proofreading solicitation copy, messaging for marketing pieces and other departmental needs. Assist with alumni social media engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or related field; 3-5 years of professional writing experience; Exceptional communication skills including verbal, writing, editing and proofreading; Knowledge of AP writing standards; Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Experience with various social media platforms; Ability to adapt writing style to multiple audiences and demographics; Demonstrated experience in contributing and updating content on the web and basic knowledge of HTML and content management software; Familiarity with Google docs.
