Lehigh Hanson is seeking a Terminal Associate for our Providence, RI cement terminal.

Reporting to Terminal Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting the Terminal Supervisor with day to day operations.
Be involved and aware of all aspects of the day to day terminal operation.
Ensure customer orders are filled accurately. Promptly address customer concerns and refer more complex problems to supervisor for resolution.
Ensure all safety policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, are followed.
Perform the loading and unloading of cement products from or to railcars or bulk trucks; coordinate bulk loading activities with customer drivers and sales personnel. Inspect railcars and bulk trucks prior to loading/unloading. Operate locomotive, loader or car puller to move or position railcars in place for loading or unloading or to transfer railcars to switching tracks. Operate controls to convey proper cement product to bulk truck.
Ensure shipping and receiving paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis.
Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are executed on terminal equipment and activities are logged.
Ensure proper housekeeping.
Manage overall terminal operations in the absence of the Terminal Supervisor, which includes coordination with regional personnel.
Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1-3 years prior experience in cement or related industry a plus
Proven mechanical and electrical ability
Willing and capable of working extended hours and weekends if needed
Capable of accessing heights - top of railcars, stairways to silo top elevations, etc.
Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds on a regular basis
PLC experience a plus
Clerical skills a plus
Must be able to pass TSA security requirements to obtain TWIC card.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to follow safe working practices and in a team environment.
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated technical knowledge, hardware and software, with computers; MS Office products and SAP preferred
