Job Overview

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! This position is located at Recreation ITT. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Recreation Assistant for MCCS.


Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreation activities such as the following: All Points Travel and ITT Office. Responsible for issuance of airline tickets and other accountable documents used by the travel agency within the ITT Office in conjunction with sales of air, crusie and rail transportation and ither related services. Assists and advises clients on destinations, plans trip itineraries and makes travel arrangements. Performs or assists int he operatuion of the travel agency. Carries out assigned phases of the designated activity applying an understanding of the interests and needs of the program participants. Demonstrates procedures common to the activity and instructs in the use of related equipment. Maintains daily sales repor, daily account report and expenditures; reviews vendor invoices and resolves billing disputes, and effects adjustments for discounts and service charges. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Cross-trained in the ITT Office to provide information and sell tickets to patrons on local entertainment and other activities such as sporting events, concerts, outer-Island tours, etc when not performing travel realted functions.

Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regualtions and standards. Promptly reports and observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Able to perform daily duties with little or no supervision.

Minimum one year of experience in unofficial airline ticketing within the past three years or must be a graduate of an accredited travel school within the last 18 months. Must have knowledge of ticketing procedures for air, cruises and rail transportation. Must have knowledge of the operation of a computer reservation system (SABRE,WORLDSPAN, AMADEUS, OR APOLLO TICKETING SYSTEM). Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures. Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in wriing. Skill to operate a personal computer and associated software.
