Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling required.Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics or comparable experience.Minimum 3 years genetic counseling experience
Major areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Gathers and reviews pertinent medical records and prepares for clinic visits- Completes medical history and interprets data to identify risks- Assesses patient's physical, emotional, and financial needs to plan for appropriate care- Provides information about the medical diagnosis, etiology, inheritance patterns and risk of occurrence- Completes case summaries and genetic counselor letters- Coordinates and monitors test results and reports to MD- Participates in the development of the Perinatal program through networking with medical providers on a local, regional, and national level- Assists with the implementation of standards based on guidelines from JCAHO and the American College of Medical Genetics, uses NCCN guidelines- Demonstrates a visible working style, acts in a manner that is consistent with and shows commitment to the WFH ValuesThis position is considered full-time exempt, benefit eligible and will work 36+ hrs/wk. No weekends or holidays are required.
