The Kaiser Account Executive is responsible for managing the Kaiser business in the Northern California, Southern California and Hawaiiregions across the entire pharmaceutical portfolio. They will develop and execute strategic regional business plans focused on growing Sanofi’s presence, performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction in their regions. They will lead a team of Sales Specialists to deliver on customer needs and patient outcomes through relevant programs, initiatives, and solutions.

The Account Executive will also have responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with key Kaiser stakeholders in their regions such as the regional chiefs, executives, and administrators. They will work with the Account Director in collaborating with Sanofi stakeholders such as sales, marketing, and insights.

Account Management

  • Manage both the Northern and Southern CaliforniaKaiser team, budget, and performance

  • Responsible for commercial programs and investments in the Northern California, Southern California and Hawaii regions as part of managing the profitability of the business

  • Manage relationships with the regional Kaiser C-suite, executives, and administrators

  • Oversee the pull-through of mutually beneficial contracts and formulary positioning for Sanofi brands for the Kaiser account

  • Secure key account information and data where possible

  • Coordinate implementation of cross-functional projects, programs, and offerings within the Northern California, Southern California and Hawaii regions

  • Collaborate and communicate with Sales Specialists on regional strategies, insights, and offerings

  • Collaborate with other Account Executives on best practices, lessons learned, and opportunities

  • Regularly review the regional Kaiser goals, needs, and progress with the Account Director

  • Communicate regional Kaiser policies and rules to the Account Director and rest of the team as well as key Sanofi stakeholders

Business Analysis and Planning

  • Understand Kaiser’s current and future regional business, issues, needs, and opportunities; local market environment and trends; and competitor activities

  • Lead development of regional account strategies and business / operational plans that are aligned to the overall Kaiser account plan and also incorporate unique regional opportunities

  • Ensure that the integrity of Sanofi's vision and key strategies are upheld

  • Manage performance of regional account plan, strategies, and tactics through regularly tracking, analysis, and adjustments

Performance Leadership

  • Manage and coach Sales Specialists in the execution of regional plans, strategies, and tactics to meet corporate and customer needs

  • Work closely with other Sanofi customer facing roles (e.g. CBE, OCG, Sanofi-Genzyme, Contracting) to deliver offerings that will meet Kaiser’s needs and objectives

  • Collaborate with internal Sanofi stakeholders (e.g. Government Affairs and Policy, Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Brand Management, Market Access) to develop relevant programs and resources (e.g. offerings, marketing materials), pull-through key account initiatives, and position Sanofi as a leader in the respective disease categories

  • Lead and demonstrates best practice and role model behaviour within the organisation in adherence with the company values


Skills and Experiences

  • 5 years of experience in account management, managed markets, contracting and/or field sales required

  • Management level candidate who has completed internal certification, DSMC ready, or have 2 years of prior management experience required

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, business planning, communication skills, along with the results orientation, and business savvy to manage a significant and complex customer account

  • Ability to identify, assess, and initiate business opportunities, including proposing creative solutions and taking calculated risks

  • Proven commercial acumen, with clear understanding of the business market dynamics and the ability to accurately assess and convey market access intelligence to shape plans and targets

  • Demonstrated strength in designing and delivering easily adoptable account plans

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop relationships

  • Demonstrated strength in conducting broad business-to-business discussions with customers and associated stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial solutions

  • Experience leading, developing, motivating, and guiding teams to successful outcomes and the attainment of business objectives

  • Experience with developing and coaching individuals

  • Experience with Sanofi HQ and functions, understanding in-house performance indicators and how to navigate and influence internal stakeholders in order to optimise opportunities with customers and achieve shared goals

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Experience managing P&L


  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred (life sciences degree or MBA)


  • Travel throughout Kaiser geography will be required to meet with customers as necessary
