Your tasks and responsibilities

The purpose of the Quality Manager, US Soybean role is to ensure the identification, creation and implementation of the Bayer’s Integrated Management System across the existing U.S. Soybean Seeds locations and activities. Over-see activities, provide instructions and training, develop documentation and records, conduct inspections, assessment and audits, promote and ensure those responsible at each Seeds location will implement, maintain and improve the necessary Quality requirements, integrated systems, processes, methods and tools to continually improve product quality. Participate on the Soybean Leadership Team to ensure local alignment with the global BCS integrated management system strategy and to establish and adopt global Seeds quality initiatives and objectives.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Quality Manager, US Soybean, are to: •Ensure the implementation and continual improvement of Quality Management for all Soybean Seeds locations in the U.S in alignment with the global integrated management system objectives, processes, methods and templates to streamline and improve the efficiency of quality related process; •Responsible for leading all aspects of quality including planning, processes, systems, training, third parties, measurement, customer satisfaction and complaint, quality control and auditing for the US Soybean Operations, Seeds Supply Chain and Breeding and Trait Development teams. Support quality management activities for other US crops as assigned by the Head of Seeds Quality Management, North America. (e.g. Cotton, Wheat, etc.); •Collaborate with cross functional teams to assign resources, manage objectives and document, audit and improve processes necessary to support the integrated management system, compliance requirements and quality objectives; •Key processes include: Quality and critical control point methods; testing requirements; and sampling strategies; Setting seed standards for crops; phases and seed types; Customer complaint and feedback; Third party supplier evaluation; Document and record control; Quality training; Corrective, preventive and improvement processes; Risk assessment; Management of Change; •Facilitate the completion and recording of quality related improvement actions to ensure adequate measures are taken to prevent recurrence; •Provide training and communication throughout the Soybean Seeds US organization and Bayer’s third parties to increase awareness and understanding of the integrated management system and quality objectives and establish a customer focus on quality; •Plan and align an audit program which improves the processes related to quality objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, legal and internal BCS standards and quality related requirements; •Perform General System and Technical Quality audits as needed; •Monitor and advise leadership on the performance of the integrated management system; •Produce data and report on performance and compliance, KPIs, measuring against set standards (data includes cost of quality, performance against seed standards, improvements, efficiency and effectiveness).

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: •Degree – BA or BS and 5 -7 years of experience in a Quality Management, Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control Leadership Position is required and 5 – 7 years’ experience in ISO 9001, Business Excellence and/or Operational Excellence Experience; •Strategic, methodical, logical and detail oriented; •Effective communicator both verbal and written; •Strong supervisory, management and networking capabilities; •Strong mathematical and numeric skills; •Flexible and able to reduce complexity; •Solution and stakeholder oriented; •Intercultural experience; •Language English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Auditing experience; •Agriculture or Seeds industry experience; •Soybean seed quality experience.
