SC Department of Public Safety Environmental Health Manager I in Richland County, South Carolina
Tracks, reviews and evaluates compliance monitoring reports and compliance certifications from air pollution sources to ensure compliance with state, federal and permit requirements; maintains report and certification tracking databases; coordinates and communicates with appropriate staff as needed in compliance determinations; provides compliance assistance to facilities when appropriate and makes referrals to enforcement when necessary, responds to inquiries concerning reporting and certification requirements; participates in enforcement conferences.
Minimum and Additional Requirements: A high school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health. A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience. Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field; or an associate degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and two years of environmental health or related experience; or high school diploma and four years of environmental health or related experience. Institutions of higher learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills are required. A valid driver's license, occasional overnight travel, and the ability to operate state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field. Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
