Incumbent performs various duties in the Canteen Food Department, including food service, dining and storage areas. Sets up storage areas as needed. Cleans tables, chairs, counters and equipment, sweeps and mops floors. Operates electronic cash registers, separates dishes and utensils for dish machine. This position also requires incumbent to work weekends.
Incumbent MUST have excellent customer service. Food Service experience preferred.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday,includes weekends.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *The position requires continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of weight up to 45 pounds. .
*WORKING CONDITIONS: *The work is performed in kitchen areas where the steam and heat. Cooking equipment will often cause uncomfortably high temperature and humidity. The work area is usually noisy from food service activities, and there is a danger of slipping on floors where food or beverages have been dropped. Incumbent is regularly exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigeration or freezing units.
*EXPERIENCE: *A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave : Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.
Salary Range: $9.19 to $10.72 / Per Hour
