Perform organizational level ALSS maintenance on assigned aircraft under contract to Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE), Pt Mugu, CA. Have in depth knowledge of assigned aircraft, ALSS systems and related components.Utilize all maintenance manuals, maintenance requirement cards, and work from related schematics, diagrams, drawings, technical directives, maintenance/servicing instructions and operational written procedures. Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, removes and replaces associated parts and components on a variety of systems, such as aircraft mounted and aircrew ALSS (survival equipment), cabin environmental and pressurization systems, equipment cooling, liquid and gaseous oxygen systems. Performs inspections and maintenance of aircraft ejection seats, aircraft air conditioning systems, canopy systems, canopy jettison/fracturing systems, fire warning/extinguishing systems. Perform related duties in hazardous areas such as oxygen system, engine fire extinguishing systems including the removal and replacement of cartridge-actuated devices. Initial Medical Provider clearance for Ordnance with recurring annual clearance/physical examination required. Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position in accordance with NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series. Position regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle, grip or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to talk or hear. Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work and working at heights at or above 40 feet is required. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Able to work in outside weather conditions on aircraft flight line/ramp. Possess thorough knowledge of flight line operations and procedures. Qualify to operate support equipment (SE) for flight line operations. Ensure all maintenance actions are performed in accordance with government and OSHA safety standards. Perform preventative maintenance duties as determined by written and verbal instructions. Comply with all current sections of CNAFINST 4790.2, NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series and PAE Local Site Procedures pertaining to aircraft maintenance and ALSS. Maintain aircraft ALSS history records in the required logs and records. Comply with all OSHA and PAE safety rules and regulations. May work with other groups of personnel to resolve problems pertaining to ALSS systems. Perform related duties as assigned, including any and all duties of lower rated technical personnel within their classification. Assist other shops/skills as required.Candidate experience must be clearly defined on resume with specific dates (month & year)/locations of relevant experience. High School graduate or equivalent.Specialized training courses are desired. Must have completed the US Navy AME “A” School Egress Course. This requirement may be waived only by the Type Commander.Shall have 5 years USN/USMC/USCG O-level CNAFINST 4790.2 series aircraft maintenance support experience. Shall have minimum 3 years T.M required/series preferred aircraft maintenance experience for the specific T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain. Shall have completed and be able to document the appropriate T/M required/ series preferred Navy Egress class “C” school. Preferred to have 2 years T/M required/series preferred within the last 3 years Must be a U.S. citizen. Required to obtain a Govt. issued Common Access Card (CAC). Shall possess or can qualify for a Secret Clearance. Shall possess or can qualify for a U.S. states driver’s license.Point Mugu Naval Weapons Test Center is located on south facing beaches in Oxnard, California, located on a coastal plain approxmately 50 miles north of Los Angeles. Temperatures in the summer months range between 70 and 85 degrees. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards, fumes or airborne particles.
