Ability to perform all duties of a staff speech and language pathologist. 2. Adheres to departmental dress code. 3. Attends departmental meetings. 4. Attends/presents at departmental inservice sessions as scheduled. 5. Based on the evaluation findings, develops and implements a patient care plan which is directed toward functional outcomes with changing conditions. 6. Effectively and clearly communicates patient data to patients, significant others, physicians, and other health professionals. 7. Ensures the safety and well being of all patients under speech therapy care. 8. Evaluates patient’s functional and physical status including adaptive equipment needs. 9. Evaluates, develops and implements therapeutic programs and protocols. 10. Helps orient new staff. 11. Maintains interdepartmental communication. 12. May assist with the coordinates of patient care provided by the speech therapy department. 13. Monitors daily scheduling to ensure that all patients are provided care. 14. Other duties as assigned. 15. Participates in patient discharge planning. 16. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. 17. Participates in program development activities. 18. Participates in the departments student program. 19. Participates in the interview process. 20. Performs periodic re-evaluations of the patients to assess the effectiveness of treatment and updates care plan as appropriate. 21. Plans and administrates speech therapy care as prescribed by a physician utilizing current standards of practice. 22. Protects patient confidentiality at all times. 23. Provides patient and family education. 24. Provides patients with home exercise programs. 25. Rotates between intradepartmental areas. C. Customer Service 1. Solves customer problems, treats customer with dignity and respect, and acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs. D. Policy and Procedures 1. Ethics and Compliance - Conduct demonstrates compliance with and reporting of suspected violations of all relevant laws, regulations, RCH’s Compliance Policies and Procedures, and Corporate’s CODE OF CONDUCT. 2. II. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A. Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Current State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State. ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be CCC eligible. CPR qualified or completes training. B. Education: Masters degree program in Speech and Language Pathology. C. Experience: Minimum one year experience as a speech language pathologist. Recent graduates that are CFY eligible may be considered for the position. D. Special Qualifications: Knowledge in all areas of patient treatment. Ability to carry out department policies and procedures. Self directed. Proficient with video barium swallow studies. III. DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED
