ITW Commercial Construction, NA is seeking a Machine/Equipment Operator at our Roselle, IL facility.

ITW Commercial Construction encompasses the brands Buildex, Red Head, and Ramset with an overall history dating back to 1910 with the invention of the original “self-drill” anchor and the first “powder-actuated tool” in 1947. Ramset came to the market in 1948 and in 1952 launched the world’s first trigger operated powder actuated tool known as the JOBMASTER. Ramset’s innovation led the company to many “firsts” after that which included the first piston-driven low velocity powder actuated tool, the first underwater powder actuated tool, and the first one-piece drop-in masonry expansion anchor. Buildex brought Teks®, the original self-drilling fasteners to the market in 1967, followed by the Original Tapcon® and E-Z Ancor® product lines. Together, Red Head, Ramset, and Buildex work to find innovative, quality products for the construction industry in areas of concrete, drywall, metal building, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.   • Performs duties to set up and operate a variety of in-lined equipment to cold head or threadroll and point (mill or forge) a variety of fasteners. Consistently run machines independently under normal circumstances to meet production standard rates while maintaining a high level of quality and low scrap.

  • Proficiently maintain machinery through preventive maintenance; lubrication, cleaning and replacement of parts with the use of wrenches, tools, calipers, and gauges.

  • Perform all quality checks according to MIIs and quality specifications sheets. Track and document quality checks and scrap for assigned equipment as required.

  • Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work area. Perform 5-S activities and improvements as required. In addition, track machine downtime per shift.

  • Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Able to work 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM, with OT flexibility

  • One to three years of manufacturing experience including setup, operate, and changeover of multiple machines and product lines. Advanced trouble shooting skills and use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance required.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution.

  • Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions.

  • Successfully complete supplemental training (i.e. blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools) Ability to pass level proficiency test within 6 months
