The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of Collections & Recovery, and specifically the bankruptcy process. Additionally, this person will have proven leadership skills in coaching, developing and holding associates accountable to performance standards. They will ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and federal bankruptcy law.
Assist Corporate Counsel in negotiations with attorneys and/or trustees on settlement demands.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies and internal operating policies, procedures and audit/examining standards. Responds to audit/examining exceptions.
Implements and monitors tracking and performance monitoring mechanisms as necessary. Provides required reporting to keep senior management apprised of activities; makes presentations as needed.
Communicates with staff to produce effective procedures and workflow and to ensure quality service levels are maintained. Follows up with resolution of problems to ensure timely response and customer satisfaction.
Recommends hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews. Approves employee daily time records, work assignments, vacations, sick pay, etc. Executes employee relations, training and affirmative action policies.
Reviews reports and manages productivity. In addition, completes monthly assessments to ensure procedures related to the bankruptcy process are being followed.
Creates and develops ongoing performance reviews and administers performance improvement plans if needed.
Provides support to department manager and carries out assigned duties and projects.

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Five to eight years of experience in collections and financial services industry
Two or more years of management/supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge of loan collection techniques, policies, procedures, and principles of credit lending
Strong understanding of collection laws and regulations
Thorough knowledge of consumer, residential, commercial and/or dealer originated installment lending as applicable
Basic knowledge of on-line collection systems
Thorough knowledge of general organizational operations and procedures
Strong planning and organizational skills
Good managerial skills
Ability to resolve moderate problems with minimal guidance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
