Job Description SummaryThis position will be responsible for developing and maintaining various applications supporting our Actuarial/ Reinsurance business areas. This includes being responsible for leading a small group of direct reports.Job Description

  • Coordinates extensive projects with all relevant personnel and management.

  • Analyzes requirements for major projects involving multiple components internal and external to the division. Selects appropriate solutions. Accountable for product and tool selection.

  • Creates test strategies for cross application or solutions.

  • May lead discussions with clients, management, co-workers, operations, technical support and vendors.

  • Performs major software analysis.

  • Proactively recommends solutions which take into consideration costs, business needs, and system impacts.

  • Leads analysis and general architectural design across platforms and divisions.

  • Demonstrates exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills across the organization and company.

  • Takes leadership role in product and tool selection and the development of specifications for new and existing systems.

  • May have supervisory responsibility over employees.

  • Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.

  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.

  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or technically related field required. Minimum of 10 years work experience. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field with 8 years’ experience is also acceptable.

  • Strong SQL Experience (MSSQL,Oracle)

  • Strong Web Services Experience (SOAP/REST)

  • Strong Spring Experience (Spring Boot, Spring Batch)

  • Strong experience with ETL- SSIS, Informatica

  • Strong experience with Camel

  • Experience with Active MQ

  • Experience with Kafka

  • General experience with Hadoop

  • General experience with SOLR

  • General experience with Spark or in memory computing

  • General experience MSG middleware

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
