Position Description:

Position Summary:

CGI Federal is seeking a Test Engineer for the SPAWAR Integrated Test Facilities team in the San Diego, CA area. The Test Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the integration and testing of IT products interfacing with US Navy network infrastructures, including test documentation development.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides test engineering services and support to all engineering projects in the test phase of the engineering life cycle

• Coordinates, directs, and documents all testing activities for assigned projects

• Develops and creates test plans, cases, scripts and executes and documents for assigned projects

• Provide system administrative services to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on domain controllers, application and network services servers to build and maintain test environments and systems

• Conducts testing of network and computing systems to ensure software products are compatible with system configurations and to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards and information assurance requirements

• Ability to perform testing manually or with the use of automated tools

• Execute regression, functional, and system testing

• Ability to assess client needs and form testing strategies

• Defines acceptance test criteria, based on requirement and design documentation

• Develops test scenarios, test plans, test scripts, test conditions-and test data

• Carrying out overall tests and providing documentation of test results

• Generates Trouble Reports to configuration management as necessary

• Provides timely engineering support in solving customer technical support issues as required

• Submits test results for review and approval, analyses the results of the test and documents

• Reports effort and status of assigned test engineering efforts to the Technical Test Lead on a weekly basis

• Utilizes test methods and techniques in ensuring the timely development test of assigned products

• Generate test procedures in the course of testing same and provides those procedures to the to be included as part of the Engineering Release Package to be submitted to configuration management as scheduled

• Tests all Trouble Reports associated with a product release and provides test recommendations

• Provides technical assistance to the members of the team as requested

• Exercises good interpersonal, communication and people skills ensuring that technical knowledge is shared with contemporaries within the team

• Provides weekly status reporting on activities, status, and results

Required Skills:

• Ability to configure and administer Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 and Active Directory

• Ability to configure and administer enterprise-level network switches and routers

• Ability to administer VMware ESX 4.x and related products

• Excellent writing skills and experience with writing technical documentation and reports

• Self-motivated and able to work independently

• Strong communications skills and the ability to interface effectively with customers, management, and other engineering personnel

• Ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines

Required Education and Experience:

• At least 4 years of experience in a related engineering field

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or similar degree from an accredited university. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

• Must possess an active Security+ CE or CISSP certification

• Must possess an active technical certification which meet Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01-M Requirements for IAT-II (CCNA, VCP, OCP-OSSA, MCSA, Linux+, LCIP-2)

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with testing processes and methodology

• Familiarity with US Navy Networks including CANES and/or ISNS

• Experience with using automated test tools, load generation tools, and workload modeling

• Familiarity with DoD Information Assurance requirements

• Experience with configuring Cisco Enterprise Networking products including routers, switches and Identity Services Engine (ISE)

• Experience with configuring IBM BladeCenter servers

• Experience with configuring IBM Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks

• Experience with configuring enterprise-level applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, Threat Management Gateway (TMG), EMC Networker, and VMware vCenter Configuration Manager (VCM)

• Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (REL)

• Familiarity with McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS)
