The Fixed Income Business Analyst will function as a hybrid Business Analyst and Junior Portfolio Manager. The role will play a key part in enhancing efficiency, streamlining and automating processes, and increasing productivity across the FI Department while maintaining a constant focus on reducing operational risk. The ideal candidate possesses a desire to constantly improve upon the status quo, the ability to grasp the big picture while paying keen attention to detail, and the willingness to dive into minutiae when required.

Fixed income portfolios invest in various security types, such as governments, corporate, and asset-backed securities. Derivatives, such as futures, options, and currency forwards, are also utilized in many portfolios.


  • Collaborate with diverse teams across the organization (Portfolio Management, IT, Compliance, Account Operations, etc.) to design and implement workflows to streamline and enhance efficiency in Fixed Income

  • Work with an offshore development team to communicate FI requirements and business rationale, and then help bring the vision to reality

  • Manage competing projects and deadlines to deliver results on schedule

  • May assist with day to day portfolio management


  • BA/BS in engineering, computer science or financial field highly desired; CFA/MFE or progress towards a plus

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience required; 3-5 years preferred

  • Prior experience developing or adept at learning the following technologies quickly: C#, HTML5, CSS, VBA, .NET, SQL.

  • Experience with Bloomberg, Portia, CRD, R or MATLAB, and 3rd Party Portfolio Management systems a plus (Point, YieldBook, FactSet, etc.)

  • Detail oriented, excellent quantitative and analytical skills are a must

  • Proven track record of innovation and exceeding expectations

  • Ability to perform under pressure

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Experience working in fixed income highly desired. Experience developing and working with portfolio management systems in support of investment business processes a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, project management skills, team leadership skills

  • Understanding of fixed income portfolio management concepts, experience in trading strongly desired
