Position Summary: Cardiovascular Technician assigned to the Heart Rhythm Service utilizes ECG rhythm identification skills to scan Holter monitors, receive pacemaker telephone and event recorder transmissions.
Interacts with patients while performing tilt table studies, placing monitors, and assisting physician with injectable loop recorder implantation.
Uses a variety of vended software applications.
Responsibilities: The Cardiovascular Technician performs diagnostic procedures that include, Holter monitor placement and scanning, Event recorder hook-up and transmissions.
Remote follow up of implantable loop recorders, and tilt table testing.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.
The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.
Qualifications: Requires HS diploma or G.E.D.
Must have strong ECG (EKG) interpretation skills and previous experience with Holter scanning or telemetry monitoring.
Additional Qualifications: Internal applicants must attach their 3 most recent performance appraisals.
Must be able to recognize abnormal rhythms and make appropriate notifications according to the unit's guidelines.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes in the workload, such as accommodating add-on patients.
Graduation from a cardiovascular technician, certified nursing assistant, or medical assistant program strongly preferred.
Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
Strong computer skills preferred.
License or Certification: Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
After completing an ECG review course, must be able to complete an ECG competency examination.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
The minimum pay rate is $17.33 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
May have option to work four, 10 hour days per week.
