Washington State DSHS Social Service Specialist in Seattle, Washington
We are looking for a highly motivated Social Service Specialist to join our Home and Community Services team in Seattle!
At the specialist level you'll independently provide intensive and expert services to a high risk population. This population is in need of the full range of our programs and services.
Some of what you'll be doing:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments at client's current living situation
- Develop initial and continuing care plans which support allowing clients to remain in or return to the community from nursing facilities, hospitals, or other care settings
- Provide client advocacy, as well as consultation, networking, family support and crisis intervention
- Authorize, deny, or terminate appropriate program services
- Record and document case activity and complete forms Qualifications
Here's what we're looking for:
One year as a Social Service Specialist 2 or a bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, and three years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2. A master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, that included a practicum, will substitute for two years of the paid social service experience. AND One year assessing risk to vulnerable adults or children.
