The Hertz Corporation Branch Manager in South Burlington, Vermont

General Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll develop and maintain an effective marketing plan and procedures to improve the success of the branch. This Managerial role is a combination of Customer Service, Operations and Business to Business sales.


  • Direct and organize all reservations and pick-ups, complete sales calls with Management Trainees in order to further their development

  • Conduct face-to-face sales calls and presentations in order to obtain new business

  • Handle or assist in the resolution of customer service issues if Management Trainees cannot

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is at or above the locations goal all employees of the branch

  • Be active in attending/hosting outside sales meetings or events to promote the company and branch location

  • Continue to increase the market penetration of the branch and increase revenue

  • Actively participate in the training, coaching, and mentoring of the Management Trainees and Sales and Service Associates

  • Complete performance reviews on Management Trainees and Sales and Service Associates and hold a meeting with the individual to discuss strengths and weaknesses

  • Hold monthly staff meetings to keep employees motivated and informed of business operations

Mandatory Requirements:

Essential Requirements:

  • Customer Service, Management and Sales experience

  • Associates degree

  • Must have a valid drivers license and an excellent driving record

  • Ability to drive multiple types of vehicles (automatic)

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage in verbal interactions with customers

  • Strong sales skills

  • Excellent multitasking skills

  • Properly manage employees including; training, developing, setting expectations and disciplining

  • Must be able to carry out additional duties and responsibilities due to operational needs

  • Must have the ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Previous management experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in car rental, hospitality, or tourism a plus

Applicant must posses all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities necessary to complete the responsibilities detailed above. The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following such as sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting, climbing, driving, speaking, hearing, writing, lifting, typing, filing, seeing, and reading. Knowledge of equipment operation such as computer terminal, telephone, portable, copy machine, and fax machine is required.
