Position Summary: The selected candidate will primarily work directly with one of our mid-level providers.
Responsibilities: Medical Assistants function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and patient care functions.
The duties of the medical assistant vary from department to department, depending on location, size, and specialty.
Medical Assistants work within the Department of Nursing and can receive Nursing Director defined responsibilities that may be delegated by Physician and Registered Nurses.
These defined responsibilities are within the scope of responsibility as described by this Job Description/Development Plan, nursing policy and the individual’s competency level.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with a diploma, CMA certification required (AAMA certification).
Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS – certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date.
A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.
We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:
• American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers)
• Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)
• Military Training Network
Additional Qualifications: Ability to work effectively under stress and efficiently handle daily fluctuations in patient volume.
Ability to work effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers and physicians.
Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
License or Certification: Must maintain CMA certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) competency

Hours/Pay Period: 60
Schedule Details: Hours may vary.
Primary hours are between 6:30am-5:00pm.
Candidate will also be required to work one Saturday morning every 10-12 weeks.
Weekend Schedule: One Saturday morning for Walk-In clinic every 10-12 weeks.
