Ministry Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Center in Stevens Point offers comprehensive drug or alcohol dependency treatment in a residential setting. Our treatment center offers 15 guest beds, with two guests per room. Accredited staff members are on-site 24 hours a day and include a Psychologists, and Certified AODA Counselors. The counselors and staff members are a close-knit group that functions as a team to provide guidance during and after patient stays, which generally lasts 28 days. Join this team and find the challenges and rewards you are looking for! We currently have an opening for a Resident Care Technician who can function independently, as well as part of a team. This position is part time and scheduled for 28 hours per week with flexibility to work additional hours primarily on the Night shift (starting at 11 pm) during the week and on weekends. Excellent benefit package! As a Resident Care Technician, you are responsible for maintaining a supportive atmosphere for patients of the Residential Treatment Center. Since the facility is open 24/7, a Residential Care Specialist acts as the house supervisor when counselors are not on hand. You will be responsible for admitting and monitoring non-medical detoxification patients while on duty. Day to day duties include assisting patients with basic daily living, such as grocery shopping, financial budgeting and contacting of community resources. You will also participate in planning, developing and evaluating of residential treatment services and recreational activities for patients. The Resident Care Technician is also available to lend an empathetic ear to patients who may be struggling day to day. Because patients are admitted to Ministry's AODA services voluntarily, they have the option to leave. If the patient's recommended treatment is not complete, the Resident Care Technician will encourage the patient to finish out their time at the facility. Our Specialists should understand AODA services and be able to handle the challenges, stresses and rewards of the programs. Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous patient care experience preferred. Previous AODA experience preferred. CNA preferred. CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) certification preferred. Job: AODA Residential Treatment
