Primary Care Physician*:* Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Syracuse, New York is recruiting for a full-time Primary Care Physician. The successful candidate must be board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. The physician will function as the leader of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). The successful candidate will have a high level of medical knowledge and possess all the qualities for providing comprehensive primary care services. Additional duties will include medical consultation, precepting mid-level providers, and medical student/resident supervision. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license in any state. The successful candidate will have a high level of medical knowledge and possess all the qualities for providing comprehensive and compassionate primary care services. The position calls for excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and offers input into projects pertaining to the development of the clinic. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Must be board eligible/board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
  • Function as the leader of his/her Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT).
  • Responsible for the supervision of or collaboration with primary care mid-level providers.
  • Medical student/resident supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
