In this field based position, the Oncology Account Manager will be the field subject matter expert relating to contracting, billing and coding education, market dynamics, key regional influencers, and the management of product access issues for Sanofi Genzyme oncology in their designated geography. In addition, the Oncology Account Manager will help support product reimbursement through the development of relationships with local thought leaders and practice managers. This position will report to the Director, Oncology Reimbursement & Contracting.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Drive market shaping and product access by presenting GPO purchase agreements and providing current performance utilization to help the practices make appropriate purchases to achieve performance tiers.

  • Coordination with regional sales team to pull-through opportunities and to drive contract performance in strategic community oncology practices.

  • Implementation of programs and tools that strengthen our access and relationship that align with Marketing messages and support sales performance within the community oncology market

  • Develop and maintain relationships with entities such as Community Oncology Practices, Medical Groups, State Societies, MAC jurisdictions, CAC members, and Community Advocacy Organizations to support patient access and raise overall awareness.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the local market(s) and the business models, strategic priorities, future direction, financial drivers and leadership profiles of assigned customers.

  • Understand impact of evolving reimbursement landscape and impact to patient access of Sanofi Genzyme products for these customers.

  • Educate office personnel on appropriate billing codes (J, Q or C codes, ICD-9 codes, etc.) Removing reimbursement obstacles and gain coverage for oncology products in a proactive manner.

  • Support Payer team with product and medical policy expertise.



Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university

Area of specialization: Business, Medicine, or Biological Science preferred.

Post-bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (e.g., Masters, MBA or equivalent)

Area of specialization: Business, Medicine, or Biological Science preferred.

10 years pharmaceutical industry experience with Oncology experience preferred

5-7 years experience in managed market environment.

Ability to travel to meetings/training/programs as necessary, additional travel will be required within the assigned geography

Demonstrated success of teamwork and working in a matrix environment (sales, market access, customer service, medical affairs, marketing, etc.)

Comfortable working in a team environment towards a team goal. Demonstrated success in contributing to the achievement of a team goal preferred.

Accepting of individual measurement via MBO. Demonstrated success in the MBO environment preferred.

Able to work collaboratively and demonstrate a high level of communication with counterparts of all types.

Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work and succeed with minimal supervision.

Able to identify specific areas of our organization that could be improved, updated, or made more efficient. This combined with the ability to plan, resource, and successfully execute on specific projects designed to address those areas of deficiency
