FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:* This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.*

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open ONLY to ON BOARD excepted military technicians in the FMS #18 of the Florida Army National Guard.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION: This is an obligated position (the incumbent is on active military duty). This temporary promotion is for a limited time not to exceed 17 June 2017. If a permanent employee in the excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, exercises his/her rights within 5 years, the selected individual will have rights back to their previous position.
INTRODUCTION: This position is located in a Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J4/G-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes plans and schedules for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment. Ensures Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E;) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports, and system management. Programs workload, shop space, and available personnel on a short and long-term basis. Ensures that unit Class 9 (CL IX) accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness. Designates and maintains current maintenance priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations), and unit supported. Analyzes repair methods and develops control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Provides technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which indicates reasoning in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 must have at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to and qualify in a compatible military position. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technical school training in a military status. Compatible assignments include: ECMF: 91, 92, 94; EMOS: 88M.
