You will manage the production of information products that are relevant to key internal and external stakeholders, such as decision makers, health system managers, researchers, health service providers, and the general public. This will be done in consultation with clients, Client Affairs Managers, and Program areas to develop and prioritize analytic work aligning with CIHI’s Strategic Plan.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for individuals who can contribute to: Leading and motivating the Health Reports Team by providing intellectual leadership, establishing sound work plans and supervising workloads, recruitment of new team members to support the department’s goals and contributing to staff development.Developing and producing health system reports from inception to dissemination, including written public reports, presentations, proposals, policy dialogues, participation in client meetings and communications for media and CIHI’s external websiteCreating external communications for a variety of audiences and representing CIHI in external expert groups or media interviews. This involves taking ownership of full cycle project management while working effectively with other CIHI departments to ensure strong cross-functional collaboration.Developing operational and strategic plans for the department by identifying priority topics of reporting interest, and maintaining and managing budgetary responsibilities.Maintaining knowledge of CIHI’s data holdings, related data held by other organizations, and tools used by CIHI to access data holdings while Identifying and resolving methodological, technical, data quality and privacy related issues.

Knowledge & ExperienceGraduate degree or undergraduate degree with equivalent experience in, Health Services Research, Health Administration/MBA, Health Policy, Communication/Adult Education/Social Sciences or similar field. 5 years’ experience within related field. Generally 3 years of management experience. Strong written, verbal and presentations skills to varied audiences (ministry, research, clinicians, etc). Demonstrated understanding of health and the organization and delivery of health care services in Canada through the production and development of information products (reports and analytical products) for a variety of audiences.
