Quality Tester at ITW
This hourly position is responsible for performing a range of testing procedures on a variety of commerical food equipment to ensure finished products meet exacting operating performance. Testing procedures include electrical, mechanical, gas and/or steam on dedicated test stations. Qualified candidates should be familiar with testing of various energy sources, working in a manufacturing environment and be self-directed.
Must be able to work from customer orders, written procedures, prints, specifications, diagrams, work orders, process sheets, written and verbal instructions to make complete operating tests. Test and check electrical circuits, ground wattage, leakage, etc. Tests include the use of measuring devices such as hi-pot tester, continuity tester, power analyzers, etc. Maintain records of test results and data collection.
Perform specified test procedures and routines for the products specific to the business process.
Follow work instructions specific to the product to perform checking operations following standard or recognized methods and procedures. Diagnose, troubleshoot and check mechanisms; make adjustments and corrections and/or repair in-progress. Conduct quality checks and in-process inspection procedures as required. Detect unusual conditions or specific problems and report to proper supervision. Complete and maintain records.
May perform other duties related or associated with maintaining the flow of work in assembly production areas.
Observe good housekeeping practices including maintaining a clean assigned work area/machine and follow prescribed safety precautions. Job includes the proper handling of hazardous waste, if applicable.
Lead in supporting of the Quality Management System (QMS) including performing assigned audits to ensure conformity to processes and procedures.
Must wear steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses (ANSI) with side shields, Arc Flash rated clothing and any other assigned PPE.
Perform other related or associated duties as assigned or directed. Detect unusual conditions or specific problems and report to supervision. Observe good housekeeping practices and follow safety and environmental procedures and practices.
