Description The award-winning Kettering Health Network is seeking a confident, flexible and experienced Culinary Associate to join our not-for-profit healthcare network committed to transforming the healthcare experience and improving the quality of life for those in the communities we serve. Under the direction of the Network Culinary Manager and assigned location supervisor, the Float Culinary Associate II provides an outstanding dining experience for staff, patients/residents, their visitors and other guests at any of the Network Culinary and Nutrition Care locations by ensuring that inpatient room service trays, café menu selections and catering items are attractive and accurately prepared according to recipe, patient/customer order and other established standards. The Float Culinary Associate II performs basic food and beverage preparation, packaging, customer service and sanitation tasks in retail venues, including catering; may operate cash register and complete required funds handling processes and paperwork; is responsible for food handling in accordance with federal, state and local food codes, KHN policy and HACCP program; takes temperatures of foods, refrigerators and freezers at each meal as assigned; communicates with location supervisor if temperatures are not acceptable and takes corrective actions as instructed; maintains proper care and use of equipment and work areas; completes assigned cleaning tasks using appropriate PPE and good sanitation practices; provides outstanding customer service, maintains professional relationships that promote teamwork and are equally respectful to all. The Float Culinary Associate II may be assigned any of our 8 hospitals or 3 senior living facilities according to staffing needs. This description is not inclusive, and duties may be modified to fulfill Network needs or goals.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read and write English; apply elementary math functions; apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved written or oral instructions; and work well under time constraints. Must be able to walk and stand continuously and tolerate hot/cold conditions. Minimum of one year foodservice experience required.
