Web Developer

The Sponsor has an immediate opening for a creative, energetic individual to serve in the position of a Web Applications Developer of various creative and innovative technical enhancements related to adult learning solutions. This position offers the opportunity to develop quick turn-around web sites, provide web and tools integration support for multimedia web based training applications, and maintain several small custom workflow systems and applications for various customers. The Developer will enhance and maintain systems developed in JOOMLA, HTML, XHTML, XML, Flash, and other applications, and assist in migrating these applications to other application platforms, if needed. The officer shall design, develop and implement online media elements and interactions that support communication, learner interaction, and learner assessment, as well as online tools that enable course facilitators to track learner performance. The Designer/Developer will ensure that all products meet or exceed the quality standards and expectation of the Customer. The Designer/Developer shall make technical adjustments during implementation of products, as necessary, to ensure interoperability and functionality. Any necessary tweaks -- to the technical environment, storyline and/or content -- based on student feedback and/or instructor observation will be made to improve the learner's and the instructor's experience. The candidate shall support courses, in this capacity, as directed by Sponsor.

The candidate shall also:

• Provide multimedia support in design, development and delivery for various software products.

• Participate in requirements gathering sessions for multimedia activities and other meetings required by the customer.

• Provide reports, charts, reference material, training modules, courseware and multimedia presentations and demonstrations at the customer’s request.

• Provide multimedia support in design, development and delivery for various software products.

• Provide all material related to courseware, such as reports, charts, reference material, etc.

• Solve complex application development problems.

• Provide informal technical and administrative direction for personnel performing software development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules.

• Analyze the problem and the information to be processed.

• Define the problem, and develop system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests.

• Coordinate with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program according to system specifications.

• Develop, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.

• Prepare test plans and test data to test the proposed system.

Job Qualifications:

Mandatory Skills: Provide examples (internal or external web links/web addresses) of websites, user interfaces, and applications created using the content management system or programming language referenced below.

  1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with web user interface development.

  2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with JOOMLA.

  3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with multimedia application integration into websites.

  4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience designing and developing custom web sites and interactive applications.

  5. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with CSS and HTML.
