DSHS Developmental Disabilities Case Resource Manager

The Department of Social and Health Services, (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is hiring Case Resource Managers for multiple locations in order to support an additional 5,000 people with our offered services before July. Our current office locations include Bellingham, Mt. Vernon, Everett, Seattle and Kent.

Duties

As our Developmental Disabilities Case/Resource Manager you'll provide an advanced level of social services and specialized cases and/or resource management for people with developmental disabilities and their families. You'll adhere to federal and state laws and regulations and department/administration policies and procedures governing your work tasks. You'll serve a caseload of adults with developmental disabilities in Region 2

This is fast-paced, challenging work for someone who is able to be independent in devising their own work methods and can be very flexible and adaptive to change.

Your work will include:

Identifying and supporting needs of clients of Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and planning for and authorizing payment for appropriate services;

  • Reviewing and monitoring client plans, reports, and client progress;
  • Testifying at administrative hearings as needed;
  • Based on assessed needs, referring individuals to appropriate DDA services, other department services, and community member programs and resources;
  • Collaborating with other agencies and professionals to support clients;
  • Identifying clients or families in crisis and making emergent referrals as needed to appropriate authorities, department/division services, or local community resources; Most of all, you will be contributing to the DDA Mission:

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Professionals with a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field A ND 2 years' of experience providing social services to people with developmental disabilities OR satisfactory completion of 12 months as a Case Resource Manager Trainee.

You'll also need:

  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a team environment;
  • Flexibility and ability to manage change;
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and programs applications;
  • Comfort and accuracy working with payment systems. We pay our vendors, so basic math and general accuracy are key to making payments and overpayments, verifying eligibility of providers to be paid, etc.
