Excela Health SUPERVISOR, SSU/PACU in United States


Supervises, plans, organizes, and co-ordinates the activities/work flows of the perioperative staff employed in the PACU & SSU. This positions works with the managers and directors within preoperative services. They also act as a liaison between perioperative services and IT, customer service, patient accounting, nursing, and the employed and non-employed physicians when appropriate. Develops, implements, and manages reporting related to this position’s areas of responsibility including but not limited to utilization, charge reconciliation, efficiencies, and quality. Is involved in project management where appropriate. Plans, assesses, implements and evaluates the care for a designated group of patients. Directs and actively participates as an effective member of the interdisciplinary health care team, contributing to the efficient operation of their areas of responsibility and promoting positive patient outcomes.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Certification / Licensure / Regulation:

  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania

  • Current CPR (BLS)

  • Current PALS within the first 6 months of employment.

  • Current ACLS within the first 6 months of employment.

  • Basic Arrhythmia and Critical Care Course within one year of hire/transfer into department.

Prior Experience:

  • 3-5 years management, supervisory or leadership experience in the hospital/physician setting. Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.

  • Functional Skills on PC and Related Software

  • Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Outlook, Scheduling/time and attendance programs.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

  • Strong leadership ability, independent thinking and decision-making ability; analytical problem solving skills, sound judgment; excellent oral and written communication skills, must be able to function in a team environment.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in a team setting; creativity in treatment in various settings including inpatient, skilled nursing and outpatient clinics; ability to transition smoothly between various treatment settings; flexibility in scheduling.

  • Sound judgment, problem solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to follow directions from other team members; works independently assigned duties.

  • Prepared to continually expand and maintain job knowledge and skills to adapt to ever changing customer needs.

Preferred Factor:

  • LEAN training

  • Prior project management experience
