Equipment Associate/Delivery Driver

Performs maintenance or minor mechanic functions to keep equipment and Okland Construction office buildings and property in repair. Duties include welding; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Under limited supervision performs difficult routine work related to maintenance and construction; performs related work as assigned.
Required Tasks:Installations, Repairs, and Maintenance
Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings, and repairs or replaces defective items as necessary, using hand tools and power tools.
Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical, and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Diagnoses minor mechanical problems, and determines the proper repair method, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Plans and lays out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
Paints and repairs roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.
Installs locks, hinges, or related finish hardware.
Uses building materials for routine building maintenance.
Loads and unloads truck.
Delivers equipment and materials to job sites.
Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunction.
Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricates, assembles, or disassembles manufactured products by hand.
Repairs cracks, defects, or damages in installed building materials.
Reads work orders, instructions, formulas, or processing charts.
Assists in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to sales associates for processing.
Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items; and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocates orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
Weighs and counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
Records type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
Prepares parcels for mailing.
Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Provides written documentation of repair work completed.
Orders parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
Uses arc welding equipment.
Reads schematics or technical drawings.
Installs or replaces glass in windows, skylights, or other structural surfaces.
3-4 years experience in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Trade school certification highly preferred.
Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver License
Forklift certification is preferred

The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. The employee is also required to frequently walk on uneven surfaces.
Hazards: May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments; occasionally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to internal liquids. This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
