Desired Years Experience:
Make exact measurements and determine property boundaries of construction site, building structures, walls, and other construction features. Provide data relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's surface for construction purposes.
Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed.
Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.
Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position.
Performs other duties as determined and required by project need.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in different surveying and layout functions
Previous commercial construction experience is strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience working with Trimble 6S and TDS Pro Software
Solid and thorough understanding of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
Understands construction legal codes
Thorough understanding in reading, interpreting, and processing shop drawings, plans, specifications and other documents is required.
Solid ability to read and understand plans
Has commanding knowledge of survey software, GPS, Robot and Controller
Basic OSHA and similar training is necessary; training will be provided.
Ability to understand and capture safety concerns and issues for team members.
Ability to follow verbal directions, implement changes, and monitor material and equipment usage.
Required to be exact or highly accurate and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to identify proper tools for specific functions.
Ability to listen and follow directions.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to be responsible for the health and safety of others by working safely.
Ability to adhere to strict quality control measures.
Ability to read and understand a tape measure and/or other measuring devices.

Hazards: May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments; occasionally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to internal liquids. This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
