Camber Corporation has an immediate opening for aSoftware Application Support Specialistlocated in Washington, DC to support the US Postal Service.

This person will be part of a team that provides e-mail, phone and web-based support for volume mailers using the USPS's Global Shipping Software (GSS); which is available as a Windows Client, Web Site, or through Web Services.

The selected candidate will be responsible for working with customers and providing phone, e-mail, and remote-access troubleshooting support for customers using GSS 2 application. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Opening, managing, and closing issue tickets associated with mailer/software support

  • Answering questions concerning GSS from USPS sales staff and prospective GSS mailers

  • Performing web-based demonstrations of GSS functionality

  • Review and investigation of data transfer issues

  • Guiding mailers through the GSS startup process

  • Executing test cases from the perspective of a mailer to include:.

  • Support the creation of test plans and test cases for GSS software releases by drawing on mailer interactions to help test cases match mailer workflows

  • Participate in GSS functional and regression testing to ensure software quality and prepare for mailer questions and training upon the release of the GSS software update

  • Support Customer Acceptance Testing by guiding USPS personnel through pre-defined test cases, and answering questions concerning GSS

  • Participate in other aspects of the testing process as needed

Mandatory Requirements include:

  • 2+ years of experience supporting Windows Desktop and/or Web applications

  • 2+ years of experience using an issue ticketing system

  • 2+ years of experience using web-based support tools to access customer's PC

  • Some exposure to reading/reviewing data files, including XML

  • Some exposure to the software development processes

  • Strong communication and listening skills and a clear speaking voice

  • Excellent oral, written, and computer communication skills

Desired Requirements include:

  • Experience leading teleconferences and/or web-demonstrations of software technology

  • Experience in the mailing/shipping industry

  • Knowledge of or experience with GSS

Education requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred, or a minimum of 6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
