The Website Editor will support the Department of State in the Visa Office Website Unit in the management of internal and external website content, including editing, maintaining, and publishing content for the directorates visa-related portions of both the internet site (travel.state.gov), and the unclassified intranet site. The Website Editor will use a Content Management System and web analytic tools.

Edit, maintain and publish content for the directorates visa-related potions of the CA internet site (travel.state.gov), the unclassified intranet site (CAWeb), and SharePoint subsites based on input of internal stakeholders and needs of external audiences.
Integrate video, photos, graphics and other multimedia materials on the internet and intranet website, providing a seamless link with external sites, such as YouTube and others.
Contribute to the ongoing design and maintenance of SharePoint subsites.
Provide technical editing (including proofreading, grammar, and punctuation) to website content.
Carry out quality assurance checks on website content.
Liaise with IT department (both IRM and CA/CST) and external web developers to resolve technological issues and conduct work.
Track and report on all site metrics.
Monitor customer feedback messages/comments on website to correct issues and/or identify opportunities for improvement.
Conduct periodic reviews of U.S. Embassy and Consulate websites to ensure compliance with Post Internet Content Guidelines.
Identify and post relevant VO cables to internal and external websites.
Monitor workflow and status of project tasks and client requests and provide regular updates to WebUnit Manager and stakeholders.
In consultation with WebUnit Manager, evaluate business processes and work flows, making practical recommendations for process improvements, and assist with implementing and validating any process changes.
Coordinate with stakeholders (VO, other bureaus, and other government agencies) regarding their visa-related website information.

Bachelors degree, and,
Four (4) years of general office experience, including,
Two to three years year of specialized experience as a website content specialist, or similar role engaged in website content modifications and implementation of digital enhancements within a web-based content management system.
Three (3) years of experience utilizing a variety of office software, specifically: MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
Two to three years of specialized experience with web-based technologies, including Adobe AEM, Photoshop, Illustrator, basic HTML, and/or other design-related applications.
One to three years of specialized experience with Microsoft SharePoint, including the use of Web Parts to modify the content, appearance, and behavior of SharePoint subsites.
One to three years of specialized experience with Google Analytics.
One to three years of specialized experience with ForeSee (or other survey sampling tool).
The Government may allow the following qualifications substitutions for this position: 4 years of additional general office or administrative experience may be substituted for a BS/BA degree.
An INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; and thereafter a SECRET security clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment.
