ITW Powertrain Metals Division serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds a leadership position in North America, a growing presence in Europe and also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China. The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions, design engineering and global footprint.
The Controller is an individual contrbutor role, reporting to the Division Controller and will be responsible for performing detailed accounting to support and meet our financial reporting and control requirements. This position will be based in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Ensure all financial controls are in place for general accounting and cost accounting, internal auditing and budget to enable company to meet current goals and objectives
Partner with Operations to provide accurate and timely KPI information and trends.
Make sound business decisions regarding future growth
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports including balance sheet reconciliation.
Assist with budget process at plant level including analysis of year over year changes.
Assist with forecast process at plant level.
Work with Division Finance on strengthening internal controls at the plant level.
Work with Division Finance on improving core manufacturing systems including inventory, labor reporting and tracking, overtime tracking, scrap reporting, and product line costing.
Participate in working with IT in developing or identifying procedures/software systems and makes recommendations that will continually enhance company financial operations or respond to changing conditions.
Process month-end close.
Qualifications / Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Accounting
5-7 years of related experience, within a manufacturing environment
Exhibit knowledge and ability to apply accounting principles and practices accurately and with minimal supervision.
Experience with Financial Statement preparation.
Experience with costing and inventory management.
Demonstrated transactional analysis and modeling skills.
Experience working with information technology, ERP systems, and proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products. Advanced and accurate Excel skills required.
Trustworthy in maintaining confidentiality on sensitive and protected matters.
Creative and intuitive skills to analyze and improve processes / procedures.
Entrepreneurial spirit and willing to take collaborative initiative.
Proficient time management and prioritization skills. Ability to adapt to changes or delays.
Self-starter, quick study, Ability to work independently.
Strong analytical skills to develop and interpret quantitative information.
Collaborative and able to function in a team environment among cross-functional areas of the company. Professional interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to understand company manufacturing processes and procedures.
