JOB DESCRIPTION - Senior Project Manager, Specialty Care Operations Portfolio Management Office

The Specialty Care business unit is part of the Sanofi Biologics Platform. The focus of this business unit is to develop and supply critical medicines to people with diseases that are complex, debilitating and challenging to diagnose and treat. The Portfolio Management Office ensures that the right projects are chosen, that those projects are completed correctly the first time, that resources are deployed in the best, most effective way possible, and that project information and reports are accurate, timely, and complete.

Responsibilities :

  • This is a challenging, global role that requires project management skills as well as blend of technical data system skills and soft organizational influence skills.A motivated individual who responds well to peer input, is self-motivated, and is comfortable in an evolving organization will thrive in this role.

  • Directly manages medium to large projects for the SCO PMO as they relate to the strategy of the Specialty Care Operations organization.

  • Initially, directly responsible for managing the project resource demand forecasting project, sponsored by the SCO PMO and encompassing the global Specialty Care Operations project portfolio.These responsibilities include:

  • Owning the project schedule, risk register, KPIs, and status reports.

  • Driving and monitoring the initial resource forecasting data collection in a phased approach.

  • Sustaining the data collection on a monthly basis (business process owner once project ends)

  • End-to-end testing of the data collection process and tool to ensure it is easy to use, well-understood by users, and free of “bugs” and defects.

  • Training of project managers on use of system; work with resource managers on report information and formatting

  • Capturing of end user feedback to improve the process and system and reporting system.

  • Interfac e with SCO site PMO leaders to ensure timely and accurate forecast information

  • SCO PMO liason to Finance and SHINE team for actual resource data collection project

  • Possible transition into SHINE project manager for SCO

  • In addition to managing this strategic project, this individual will have departmental responsibilities as detailed below:

  • Directly responsible for maintaining and reporting on progress against the global SCO PMO roadmap (continuous improvement projects).Identifies action items, follows up on open actions, and escalates unresolved issues.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the monthly project data collection cycle is executed.Where appropriate, directly interfaces with project managers to capture monthly project status data.

  • Supports the SCO PMO in developing and delivering critical outputs, such as reports, dashboards, and status updates.

  • Audits the project information to ensure it is high quality.Anticipates questions from the leadership team and obtains clarification before the questions are asked.

  • Ensures the SCO PMO Process Key Performance Indicators achieve target values every month, includingthe Portfolio Data Quality KPI.

  • Captures end user feedback / voice of the customer.Uses this information to identify gaps and improvements in PMO processes and tools.

  • Develops, maintains, and executes the SCO PMO communication project plan.

  • As a project manager, design, develop, and maintain Lessons Learned for projects in the SCO PMO perimeter.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA 2-5 years’ experience in Pharma or Biopharma

  • Project Management skills, including the ability to present project data and concepts to non-project audiences; PMP

  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate within a matrix

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Desired: experience writing code in VBA or another language #LI-GZ
