Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital is implementing a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy unit in the near future and is hiring for a Nurse Manager to lead that area.
This role integrates the role components of leader, clinician, teacher and counselor. Under the direction of the VP, Patient Care Services, the Manager will share in accountability and responsibility for the coordination, direction, implementation and evaluation of personnel and services. Other responsibilities will include coordinating education and training of new staff and ensuring staff competency. The Manager is responsible for preparing and assessing staff schedules assuring adequate staffing while being fiscally responsible. Special attention must be given to provide quality, safe patient care. They will assist in developing and implementing HBOT policies. In addition, this position plays a key role in program accreditation by being accountable for data submission to state and professional organizations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring quality assurance to comply with regulatory agencies. The Manager provides input into program planning, process improvement and facilitates change as needed. The HBOT Manager is responsible and accountable for assessment of the individual with approved need for hyperbaric medicine, selection of intervention strategies to achieve optimum outcomes, implementation of education and HBOT modules, monitoring and evaluating the patient’s participation and progress, adjusting strategies and treatment modalities as necessary and reporting progress to the patient’s physician. The Manager is able to perform all areas of treatment without supervision. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from an approved school of nursing required. Master’s Degree preferred. Relevant experience in HBOT and counseling with HBOT patients required. Experience in coordinating program functions preferred. Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Certification as HBOT RN. If not certified as an HBOT RN, must acquire certification with one year of employment. Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications required. Job: RN Management
