We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become our Manager of Patient Care Services on the Surgical Orthopedics Floor!

Surgical Orthopedics is a 24-bed unit located on the fourth floor of St. Clare's Hospital and is best known for its Total Joint Center (TJC), focusing on total knee and hip replacements. However, we see a lot of different types of rehab patients on the floor. This is a very busy unit that will offer you a great deal of variety with the various patient populations that we see.

As for St. Clare's as a whole, it is the newest hospital in the Ministry Health Care system, being built in 2005. It has been recognized on numerous occasions for being a "wired" hospital, and due to our technological advances, we are able to provide the best equipment and thus the best patient care possible to our patients.

As a Manager of Patient Care Services, you will:

Demonstrates role model behavior to manage departmental activities using cost effective strategies to meet patient needs and organizational values. Assists the Vice President with the overall operation of the department by overseeing and coordinating daily activities. Assesses, monitors and implements change to improve quality for care, work performance and competency of staff. Oversee equitable assignments of patients to caregivers with demonstrated competency. Manages staffing to meet departmental goals. Serves as a role model for customer service. Solicits and responds to customer feedback in a timely manner. Demonstrates responsibility for professional development. Assists with the orientation and development of new team members. Develops, monitors and revises unit standards in collaboration with staff. Assists the Vice President with monitoring, developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Evaluates work team members. Facilitates communication and teamwork among the staff and other departments. Identifies conflict and intervenes as appropriate. Call for this position is alternated among the other managers at St. Clare's and occasional weekends may be included.

Minimum Related Years of Experience ( per minimum education ) Required: Two (2) years of leadership experience preferred. Three (3) years of nursing experience relevant to Surgical Orthopedics required.

Credential/Licensure Required : BLS certification required. Job: RN Management
