Your tasks and responsibilities
Bayer Procurement experts contribute greatly as a driving force for innovative sourcing solutions and are indispensable for an efficient and intelligent supply. They work in trustful collaborations with diverse business partners across all divisions and areas in Bayer, LLC as well as with suppliers in an international and competitive environment. As part of the Bayer U.S. Procurement Team, you’ll work directly with the Head of People & Knowledge within Functional Leadership to help develop and implement programming that will support Bayer in becoming a world class procurement organization.
This position is expected to begin in May 2017 and end in Late August / Early September 2017. Work schedule may vary depending upon incumbent’s availability.
As a Bayer Procurement Intern, you’ll be supporting the Manager of Performance & Program Management and will be interfacing with key internal stakeholders within Sourcing, Purchasing and Procurement Solutions (three unique functions within Procurement). You will be in a fast paced and challenging environment designed to help you learn, grow, and flourish. You will be matched with a Procurement Management Team Mentor to help guide you during the course of the program.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Intern Procurement Specialist are to:
•Learning the responsibilities and requirements of Sourcing, Purchasing and Strategy & Governance (Functional Leadership); •Acting as Customer Service support between Purchasing, Direct Sourcing, Indirect Sourcing and the People & Knowledge function within Functional Leadership; •Working with the the Head of People & Knowledge to identify a primary Procurement project to focus on during the course of their internship; •Actively participating in Think Tank brainstorming sessions; •Acting as a liason between Bayer U.S. Procurement and third party external organizations to identify new training programs that could be implemented; •Supporting the Global Sustainability Initiative; •Contributing to the Procurement Communication Strategy and monthly Procurement News articles; •Conducting stakeholder interviews to identify improvement opportunities; •Supporting one Operational excellence project; •Shadowing a Sourcing Manager on an on-going project in order to further learn sourcing methodologies commonly used within Bayer HealthCare; •Providing support on a Bayer Professional Development Network (BPDN) program offering.

•Current undergraduate student or first year MBA student with a focus in Supply Chain, Procurement or a Business related field of study; •U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident Status (sponsorship not provided);
Preferred Qualifications: •Knowledge of General Procurement Processes and Procedures; •Project Management and Change Management experience a plus; •GPA of 3.0.
