Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, as Director, Functional Leadership - Procurement, are to:
• Translate the global Procurement Strategy into US targets and priorities and align with the global strategy team. Clearly communicate vision and objectives and monitor current procurement trends and benchmarks along overall strategy, implementation and communication plans, and provide information to the US Procurement management team as well as to the global FL management team; • Assume responsibility for the governance in terms of risk management in Procurement and ensure readiness of the global procurement organization in terms of compliance related topics in the US in alignment with global risk management concepts; • Knowledge: Building, developing and retaining Know-How for the organization in the respective field of Procurement Strategy and Governance for the US PRO organization and contributions to the global knowledge management approach; • Run university relationship and ensure recruiting pipelines from suitable universities and industry relevant organizations; • Leading, managing and developing the direct reports in order to build a strong, motivated, passionate, diverse and capable staff and also talent pipeline for operational and strategic procurement roles; • Steer the global sustainability in supplier management program as well as special country initiative such as "supplier diversity" for example; • Develop proposals for optimization of the US Procurement organization and innovative approaches; • Implement global procurement training and development curriculums and amend those for local needs (e.g. legal or compliance topics) where needed and align with the global FL team where appropriate; • Drive and continuously improve the communication strategy & concept of the Procurement function in the direction of employees and stakeholders and be the contact point for adjacent functions such as Corporate Audit, Communications, Accounting and Controlling for US related matters; • Implement global guidelines and develop, harmonize and maintain local procurement guidelines and procedures in the new US procurement organization; • Host rapid deployment team and mange strategic projects for Procurement with related resources in the US in close collaboration with Head of Rapid Deployment Team in global FL team.

• BA/BS degree required. MBA/MS or doctoral degree is preferred; • 14 years of professional business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; • Strong collaboration skills and track record in building trustful relationships across functions and countries; • Very strong strategic and thought leadership abilities in order to form and shape functional leadership topics; • Strong understanding of external and internal policies and understanding of procurement market trends; • Strong result orientation and demonstrated capability to execute and deliver against challenging targets • Strong negotiating, presentation, influencing and problem solving Skills; • Strong leadership and managerial skills; • Demonstrated analytical decision making skills and creative thought process ability; • Good understanding of business needs & challenges; • Excellent communication strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with a track record of success in complex stakeholder settings.
• Relevant category, subject matter expert (SME) and/or procurement experience preferred.
