Bayer Manager, US Health, Safety and Environment Analytics in Whippany, NJ, New Jersey

Your tasks and responsibilities

The Manager, US HSE Analytics will provide the strategic and technical oversight for the development, implementation, and daily support for the Bayer Health Safety and Environment (HSE) department and Bayer US sites which utilize a wide variety of complex databases. This key role in the Bayer HSE group will provide the analytics to support decisions and strategy for the US. They will also be responsible for ensuring employees are trained on the various HSE systems, that periodic reporting of data is completed by the sites and reported into BaySiS, develop accurate reports for the Head of US Country HSE, US Leadership teams and sites that identify threats and opportunities for further action, and monitor and track KPIs to support the HSE team ensuring the organization is meeting targets.

The primary responsibilities of this role, as Manager, US HSE Analytics, are to: • Implement and manage HSE Systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Medgate, Manage, etc.) for occupational health, safety, environment and incident management databases for U.S.; • Develop and manage the HSE IT strategy of HSE U.S. and collaborate with BAG, Divisions and Global CHS to ensure a consistent strategy; • Coordinate the training effort for all users for HSE IT management systems; including system changes, upgrades and new implementations; • Coordination of BaySIS Data Management reporting to ensure timely and accurate reporting for annual report and global leadership; • Partner with IT and Information Security to ensure HSE management systems are properly secured and tested to ensure system availability and data integrity; • Ensure the HSE management systems are aligned with global archetype and configured to support end user operations and site processes; • Design, review, implement, and maintain the Integrity systems checks and generates anomaly and other data quality reports as required; • Demonstrate an understanding of project and corporate SOPs; • Perform internal data audits and other project quality assurance activities and document processes as required by corporate/project SOPs; • Write and revise project and protocol Manual of Operating Procedures (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with input from the protocol team; • Develop processes for collecting, organizing, and reporting data from multiple systems and to key stakeholders for paper-based data collection and assure data forms are processed and filed in accordance with protocol specific guidelines; • Coordinate with various teams and determents to implement process for collecting HSE data; • Develop, validate and update procedures for electronic data capture systems; • Support the HSE U.S. Team to develop an approach to effectively train employees using Bayer approved solutions across the organization; • Partner with internal training to ensure HSE training documentation encompasses an end to end approach; • Develop a "Train the Trainer" program to facilitate the rapid roll out plans and effectively build bench strength; • Support the Corporate HSE team to fully develop and deliver HSE trainings integrated within the Bayer LSM (Web or instructor lead Based training); • Partner with Communications to enhance the change management process (e.g. newsletters, announcement). to minimize impact on business users.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: in this position) • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Management Systems or related field; • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience related to information technology; • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role; • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in implementing IT management systems; • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead in a highly matrixed environment that is global in scale; • Demonstrated strong strategic planning and project management skills; • Strongly demonstrated organizational and time management skills; • Experience with IT auditing.

Preferred qualifications: • Master’s in IT related field or MBA; • IT experience in pharmaceutical, biomedical research, healthcare and/or agro chemical industries; • Knowledge of HSE agencies (e.g. OSHA, DPT, TSCA).
