Bayer Sourcing Manager - Medical Device in Whippany, NJ, New Jersey
Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Sourcing Manager, Medical Device are;
• Be primary interface and respected partner to internal Business Partners in the early innovation, pipeline building and development phase for Medical Devices especially in the area of Consumer Health. Understand their requirements and be a trusted partner to identify potential capable suppliers in line with global sourcing strategies and existing and new supply base; • Establish network of Business Stakeholders and build trustful relationships in order to work effectively in cross-functional team; • Develop and implement sourcing strategies, conduct supplier selection processes based on Bayer’s standard sourcing methodology and fulfilling all of Bayer’s business requirements (especially in the area of Medical Device – specific requirements) in order to identify best sourcing option during development phase in line with long-term sourcing & category strategies. Drive early supplier integration and supplier idea generation during development phase; • Perform professional global supplier market research and evaluation of supplier technology capabilities of existing and potential suppliers. Be abreast of technological trends and innovations in the area of Medical Devices. Proactively bring external Innovation in-house to create breakthrough technologies and products; • Develop an international, optimized supplier base through product- and market knowledge, which is capable to enable innovative and state-of-the art cooperation in order to develop competitive advantage for Bayer through new products; • Build up and foster strong collaboration within Procurement team for Medical Devices, with further synergistic sourcing areas and with local sourcing experts in order to identify synergies and implement global strategies across all divisions of Bayer.
Who you are
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree is required in technical/scientific (engineering, natural sciences, pharmacy, economics). Complementary education or experience covering either technical/scientific or economics background preferred; • 10 years Practical experience and sound knowledge of Strategic Procurement, Quality Management Systems, Regulatory Requirements (especially for Medical Devices) and Logistics Processes, Principles and Practices is required. Experience in Medical Devices is required. Consumer industry is preferred; • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, communication and networking skills for external and internal working contacts and relationship management; • Strong negotiating, communication, presentation, influencing and problem solving skills;
