Bayer Vice President, Marketing & Sales - Procurement in Whippany, New Jersey

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, as Vice President, Marketing & Sales - Procurement, are to:

• Establish local Business Partnering and stakeholder management with all US stakeholders in the Marketing & Sales communities, ensuring early involvement of Procurement in all sourcing projects and making sure that relevant organizations have full clarity on their responsible procurement counterparts, category managers and sourcing responsible individuals; • Collaboration with global BP organization to make sure US executes global frameworks and acts according to agreed delegation principles; • Management of the US Marketing Services Categories: Process Owner Sourcing, Contract Management, Supplier Management and Program Execution; • Establish clear handover of contracts to Procurement Operations ensuring that contracts are smoothly implemented and that savings and other contractual values are fully realized; • Solve critical supply situations on the ground and conduct frequent supplier management activities with key US marketing and sales suppliers; • Drive Sustainability and Supplier Enabled Innovation within the Marketing Community; • Drive advanced sourcing methodologies like expressive bidding and advanced analytics; • Leading, managing and developing the direct reports in order to build a motivated, passionate, diverse and capable team with a strong talent pipeline for country and above country organizations; • Building, developing and retaining Know-How for the organization.

• BA/BS degree required; • 16 years of professional business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; • Marketing Sourcing Experience (strong agency management Background: Digital, Social, etc); • Very strong strategic and thought leadership abilities in order to form and shape functional leadership topics; • Strong result orientation and demonstrated capability to execute and deliver against challenging targets and to manage critical supply situations; • Strong negotiating, presentation, influencing and problem solving Skills; • Strong leadership and managerial skills skills incl. management of decentral teams; • Demonstrated analytical decision making skills and creative thought process ability; • Good understanding of business needs & challenges; • Excellent communication strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with a track record of success in complex stakeholder settings; • Strong commercial understanding to be able to act as a Business Partner on eye level within the Marketing community; • Good collaboration skills, international working experience and intercultural skills; • Good and thorough understanding of operational procurement Processes.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA/MS is highly preferred; • Leadership Roles in Marketing, Business Leadership and/or Procurement preferred.
