Strategic analytics:

SA is a group within the Barclaycard US business that puts best-in-class analytics at the heart of every critical decision. Our goal is to incessantly create value for our customers and company by providing the best actionable decision that leverages best practice tools and analytics.

Overall purpose of role:

oMember of team responsible for building, running, & maintaining the balance build valuation and targeting engine. Engine is used to select population to market to and what product to offer to maximize bank profitability/volume. This involves ownership and running of the SAS code behind the model itself as well as leadership of the process to engage business constituents to ensure proper bank role inclusion of the various functions of our organization.

oIn addition, ideate/generate value-add initiatives through proactive thought leadership to enhance our BAU engine/processes. These are primarily analytical in nature but could also include using analytics to identify non-analytical/targeting initiatives that generate value.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

oKey specific accountabilities.

oPerform ad hoc analytics and research around monthly optimization engine outputs. Find deviations from expected results and research and explain them.

oRun monthly audit processes of optimization engine run.

oAssist in improving engine targeting strategy. Both population, product, and channel.

oStakeholder management and leadership.

oWill be working with team within SA. Also our marketing and finance counterparts here at the bank.

oMust manage good relationships with these stakeholders. Be able to positively interact and reach desired outcomes.

oDecision making and problem solving.

oThis role requires very good analytical and problem solving skills. Will often need to figure out reasons for shifts in optimization engine output.

oShould be able to independently attack these problems. They will often deal with the inner workings of the optimization engine and how the different inputs interact with each other to change the outputs.

Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

oBasic Qualifications

o0-3 years experience in analytics (Marketing, Finance, or Credit analytics preferred)

oBachelors or Masters degree in an analytical / statistical discipline required (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, etc.)

oPreferred Qualifications

oStrong SAS and SQL skills.

oStrong analytical skills

oStrong communication skills

oStrong knowledge of Microsoft excel

oR/Python/Tableau/MicroStrategy experience or desire to learn

oFinancial (NPV) modelling experience

oStrong process management skills

oSelfstarter with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

oAble to handle many competing interests at once in an effective manner
