Environmental Services Assistant Casual/As Needed- Day and Evening Shifts Howard Young Medical Center Woodruff, WI Howard Young has two 2 Casual positions available. One on PM shift working 3:30 – 12 approximately 3 nights a week with availability to cover occasional weekends. The other on Day shift 7:30 – 4. Two days a week and occasional weekends with the possibility of more hours. Summary and Scope: Performs various cleaning functions and miscellaneous tasks according to prescribed policies and procedures. Skills Required: · Must demonstrate ability to follow written and oral instructions. · Ability to work with a limited amount of supervision. · Basic computer skills preferred. · Demonstrates knowledge of what to do for hospital and department safety according to policies. · Demonstrates ability to use and properly mix various chemicals · Able to locate and utilize Material Safety Data Sheets. Essential Job Duties: · Cleans assigned areas using proper techniques. This includes: o Cleaning patient rooms (both occupied rooms and discharges of all types) o Utility rooms o Restrooms o Offices o Waiting rooms o Morgue o OB and ER (all areas) o Hallways, stairwells, entrances, storage rooms or any assigned areas. · Cleans floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, vents, fixtures, windows, etc. as required using proper methods and various equipment as necessary. May also: o Cleans up various types of spills according to policy. o Clean isolation rooms, c-section and LDR, and morgue, following gowning procedures and proper mask usage when applicable. o Pick up trash/recyclables according to policy including proper procedures for handling/disposal of infectious/hazardous waste. o Inspects drapes, curtains, and shower curtains for cleaning and repair needs. o Washes windows (below 8 feet) as appropriate. o Prepare soiled linen for pick up and distributes clean linen. · Maintains all equipment used and restocks cleaning cart, as needed. Reports repair needs and unsafe conditions. · May Set up and clean conference rooms according to procedures. May move furniture, records, file cabinets, beds, etc. as needed and requested · Responds to pages in a timely, courteous and professional manner. · Perform HAZMAT Decontamination duties and all required training. Qualifications: Minimum Education Required : · High School Diploma or GED. Minimum Related Years of Experience ( per minimum education ) Required: · Previous housekeeping/custodial experience preferred. Credential/Licensure Required : · If travel between facilities is required: o Must hold a current valid driver’s license o Must meet the requirements documented in the Ministry Health Care Fleet Safety Guidelines and Associate Driving Policy (HR-5774). The requirements are based on assigned points for violations that appear on the Motor Vehicle Check, which will be conducted prior to hire and annually thereafter. Job: Housekeeping
