Job Description and Responsibilities:
ITW Powertrain Metals Division serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds a leadership position in North America and a growing presence in Europe. The division also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China.
The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions, design engineering and global footprint.
Produce quality parts through efficient development of transfer press tooling coupled with proper maintenance of tooling and presses. Also, to promote positive attitudes and offer logical user friendly solutions to everyday problems.
-Set up various sizes and types of presses to produce drawn parts within required tolerances.
-Complete tool development for assigned presses.
-Recognize and correct both typical and unusual press problems.
-Contribute die design concepts for the dual purpose of developing new tooling and upgrading existing tooling.
-Layout and inspect tooling before putting it into a press. Sharpen and polish tools as needed. Fit fingers into slides on ICOP presses and install fingers on slide bar for die sets.
-Organize and update tool books on a daily basis.
-Operate toolroom equipment (excluding CNC equipment) efficiently to produce all necessary tooling.
-Take final responsibility for the quality of parts coming off each assigned press. All parts must stay within print dimensions.
-Train transfer press operators and die setters to comply with all quality standards set forth by Drawform.
-Understand and incorporate use of S.P.C.
-Pull tooling when required.
-Know the type and proper mixture of drawing and machine lubricants for each assigned job.
-Remove or replace drawing lubricants on any press when required.
-Troubleshoot minor hydraulic and electrical press problems to achieve maximum productivity.
-Train apprentices in concepts applicable to deep drawn metal stamping.
-Perform other duties as required or directed.
-Minimum 3 years experience in shop floor set-up
-Able to lift approximately 40-60 pounds on a regular basis.
-High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
-Journeyman status preferred.
